Hard not to be attached to certain results. Do you have kids Mr.Publias???

It was not an answer to say that over time one can become further detached from reality. Again you may work on it though meditation or whatever, but so what. I can get in the zone in many ways. Surfing and other sports, creative endeavors and even trading can bring one to the zone but so what.
The concept of recognizing or denying self is not practical or useful for excellence in competition whether it be trading or sports. One must recognize and become aware of self and work with self to respond to situations properly not deny self.
Practice, plan and drill. Pro athletes prepare to succeed at each level and then as they succeed on the buy.com tour they become ready for the pga tour. Professionals involved in competition, plan and drill. They know they will feel the choke or performance anxiety but they have routines that they have drilled into their games so that their nerves have less of an effect on their performance. None of they claim they are so detached they do not feel the moment (except for the zone which may happen occasionally but rarely lasts through crunch time). Ever follow a golfers routine before he hits a drive or strikes a putt. You can tell when they are likely to mess up because they take an unusual amount of time over the ball.
Pros and their coaches dropped the specious zen junk years ago. They do not fall into the seductive but mistaken belief that by working on their awareness they can eliminate their ego/self and perform complex tasks under pressure like a zen master. They grind and drill. So please let us stop implying that by studying eastern thought traders will become better traders. Instead explain to traders your edge and drill it into them. Maybe after succesful trading a philosophy may be a useful for some traders but enough of all this eastern religious stuff. Let us see trading results and discuss how they are achieved.
Now for my religious editorial which is consistent with my belief about self. (To be transformed and not ignored).
Pax/Peace is a great state and there is one true way to achieve it and the great irony is that so many people do not even endeavor to even study the truth because of the very ego they are trying to lose.

I guess I am supposed to trade it without reflection whenever she allows me to, and cut the losers short. Anything else?
