Surfer,

You have still not answered the questions I posed in my post on page 505 of this thread. They were not rhetorical questions. Really.

His answer was

Please shutup and stop gossiping like a panzy.

I thought it was pretty clear, maybe you didn't.

VN is an individualist who does what he wants, when he wants , how he wants. he possess the financial and intellectual firepower to do things his way without concern for herd like behavior. he is a scholar among traders and a trader among scholars, a very very rare combination. here's what nasim taleb has to say:

I finally saw VN after all these years. I realized then that I was seeing something truly exceptional: genuine intellectual independence. This is much, much rarer than intelligence, and even rarer than creativity. At the risk of offending many friends, I do not think that I’ve encountered it in any other than VN and Benoit M.

does that answer your inane questions? knock off the negativity, thunderdog.

Eat my shorts. And when you're finished and full, try to learn English. Judging by your posts, I hope for your sake that it is not your first language.

H-U-G-E EGO.

Bad for trading.

EGO leads to denial when the market goes against oneself, or attempting hail mary trades after a drawdown. In any case, H-U-G-E losses are the result.

When a man approaching "golden age" wears hot pink it raises an eyebrow or two. The same goes when someone wears a suit (including vest, if memory serves) and no shoes or socks. I have no doubt that he is an individualist as you say. He is entitled to do as he pleases regardless of money and intellect. However, that does not address his motivation, which was my question to you as someone who knows him. Why does he seem to need to stand out in such superfluous and, to use your word, inane ways? Am I missing something?

As for negativity, perhaps you should revisit some of your own threads, i.e., "Is so-and-so insane," etc. Ring any bells?
