My bodyfat is 3%, and I never workout: only diet matters. I eat pasta about 5X/week and serve it al dente. Thus, Adkins is wrong. I eat almost no refined sugar, no trans fat, no flour, no dairy. Instead, I eat daily leafy greens, Alaskan salmon, oatmeal, pasta, soy nuts, peanuts, whey protein powder. My diet's the best: simple, healthful, cheap.

Out of curiousity... what do you think your pasta is made of? I assume it's not the typical white flour variety?

That would be my guess, too, assuming he has a normal metabolism and a sedentary lifestyle.

Well, my point was simply that all pastas come from a flour source, whether it be whole grain, sprouted variety[good] or enriched white flour[bad]. Otherwise you'd be eating Kashi. :p

Whoa! No carbs for a whole month? That only leaves protein and fat. Too much protein is hard on the liver and kidneys, and too much fat is hard on longevity. I realize it is only for a month, but...why? Why not simple moderation which limits carbs to the essential complex variety? And exercise, of course. Crash programs usually result in, well, crashes.

What the heck has happened to simple, healthy living? I think that the lose-weight-fast programs are the nutritional equivalent of get-rich-quick schemes, with similar long-term results.

Sometimes desperate times require desperate actions.

By eliminating carbs for a month it SHOULD re-regulate ones thyroid and glucose levels.

It will also starve Candida a huge reason why so many people CRAVE sweets and carbs once you can get the Candida killed off you will eliminate the cravings (which is the root problem of obesity).

30 days is nothing in the scheme of things and well worth the effort.

I'm 5'9 140 lbs and probably have 4-6% body fat.

I'm not that active (anymore) but like the other poster wrote "It's really 80% diet" and HEALTHY eating is the way to go BUT you still have to do some exercise. :)

You haven't a clue wtf you're blabbering about. Your TSH will drop like a stone.

I'll admit that being emaciated will probably add to longevity. From the pic, you look like you'll live to 120. Pritikin-types have very long life-spans due to the absence of heart disease.

I don't see the correlation between being emaciated and possessing knowledge of endocrinology or physiology.
