The thyroid hormones, thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), are tyrosine-based hormones produced by the thyroid gland. An important component in the synthesis is iodine. Effects of thyroxine: * increased cardiac output, * increased heart rate, * increased ventilation rate, * increased basal metabolic rate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triiodothyronine

Someone needs to block the google and wikipedia IPs on Satchel's computer.

Quote from riskarb:

You want to drop 30, right? 30d of T-3 and solid cardio can do it. Once off-cycle you'll need to bump calories and eat very clean; fiber, protein and minimal fats and maintain cardio. All carbs should be from fiber sources; beans, lentils, etc... you'll produce more methane than a volcano, so keep some enzymes on-hand[beano].

It's a fairly aggressive methodology, but it works wonders. Your TSH/thyroid suppression will bounce-back in a month or two. Some Iodine-based thyroid supplements will help to feed the thyroid, post-cycle. Also, the redox of 7-keto DHEA [7-OH] is recommended.

A fellow ETer lost >20lbs in 30d on the regimen with no rebound-gain. He had a starting weight of 200 at 5'6" [not me!]

thanks for the advice. if exercise and cutting out the fatty food does not work, i'll give it a shot.

hey, still waiting for the invite out to tahoe.

holding goog and DIA short monday morning.

best,

Sorry surf, but GOOG looks like its on a one-way ticket to 500. It probably will come back to your entry point sometime within the year, but the question is, are you willing to hold the position through the up move?

I have to agree with H. You are an experienced trader though and have been around the block so no doubt you are well hedged, maybe even making a bit on money on the trade by now.

When ever I am wrong I always hope to very very wrong as that is when my hedge (usually some options stragetgy) usually pays off and saves the trade.

Sperandeo's idea of choosing an entry where you know very quickly if you are wrong is helpful. But to add to that is the notion of hedging and then managing the trade so that even if you are wrong you keep losses so small (and on occassion even make a small profit when you are wrong through hedging and trade management) that you can be wrong many times (Lord knows I am!) without making too much of a dent in account equity.

Surf, just curious. Why did VN and his cohort dress in matching pink suits? Also, why did VN pose for his first book's dust jacket photo in a full suit with no shoes or socks? The message I get is "Look at me!" Since you know him, perhaps you can shed some light here. While I certainly don't think there is anything wrong with someone choosing to live his life his own way regardless of what other people think, why does VN's way involve attention-seeking ostentation? Personally, I believe that if he really didn't care what other people thought, then he would not be looking to draw their attention. Therefore, I am concluding that he cares about what other people think. What, then, do you think is his motivation?

What would be more interesting to me is to know if you mentioned your Goog trade to him and if you did what his thoughts were?
