By definition, to the extent that you are using past market data such as price and volume to arrive at a trading strategy, then that trading strategy employs TA. What you refer to as traditional or non-traditional is moot. I, too, think that most of what passes for TA is nonsensical. Nevertheless, I think it has value in its most basic form.
