Quote from EPrado:

Man...must be nice in your world where you can scratch losers as they continue to crush you.

Guys like you who catch knives/get in front of trains most of the time get crushed.
Well said EPrado. Hey--who's going to win the Travers--maybe we should ask smurf

There it is. An actual, real quote from smurf made in the last few months despite his trading disasters.

But here's smurf's actual track record shorting stocks and the market

1) crox lost -33% ( If I ever lost -33% on a single stock, or even -10% for that matter, i'd exit the business)
2) wfc lost another -33% (then proclaimed that he wasn't "embarrassed" and that he's proud he "took a shot")
3) GS got killed again with what smurf called an "excessive bet"
4) smurfs latest "classic" market short that blew up on him this week.

And the short calls that were winners:

1)

-------------------------------------------------

Smurf is ALWAYS wrong when he shorts. Death, taxes and smurfs shorting.

I can only hope, beg that smurf will find it in his heart to start a new thread with a new "smurf alert" short. There's guaranteed money going long smurfs short alerts. And getting out is as simple as closing your position when smurf covers at his huge loss.

I voted for smurf, despite him going up against stock trad3r and port1385.

smurf, why no comment on your short selling record? do you not believe in track records as well?
Quote from B. Rowshan:

4) this weeks short YM call

And the short calls that were winners:

smurf, were you wearing your red nose and orange afro when you compiled this record?

Surfer, you need to equivocate better. All the best gurus are lucky, skilled or skillfully equivocate.

Also, pick points where the market is more listless to "go big." That way, your paper calls are 50/50. With equivocation, you bump up your reputation considerably.

Positives: you got the name dropping, alias posting, reference to presumably bad science and weirdo mystique down cold.

Your calls are only anecdotal evidence that trend following- something you think is not real- is real... a strange statistical and philosophical happening. That, and/or you are the ultimate fade.

Ciao XOXO,

Auric
:) :D :p

Rumor is the connections of Rachel Alexandra are skipping The Travers.....Surf said he thinks she can't lose.

They are now considering retiring her.

Why not an attempt at being long and make the easy money that all the trend followers are making being long the stock indexes ?

Oh that's right...trend following doesn't work......

Keep on picking tops and getting clobbered.

Quote from Son of a Gann:

Did anyone ever notice that Surf is right but he is 2-3 weeks always early?
No, sometimes he trades right before an earnings report (CROX) and right before an FOMC announcement. Looking for a pattern in his trading is a waste of time....

stocks we are looking at for monday

Stocks rocketed higher on the final trading session of the week. A happy go lucky Ben Bernanke triggered the optimistic spirit by stating he believes the economic recovery is near during a speech at the tony resort town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Oil spiking higher and a very positive housing report added to the enthusiastic buying. The bulls paid little heed to news of a prison term for a bad UBS banker with stocks closing near the high of the day. The DJIA rocketed 155.91, the tech heavy Nasdaq advanced 31.68 and the broad based, market barometer S&P 500 soared 18.76.

What are you smoking? Please show a single example where he was early and wouldn't have been stopped out.

smurf shorted WFC @ $18 and today it's $28 for a whopping loss of over -50%. That's not being early it's being horribly wrong.
