Government bailouts, TARP funds, stimulus packages and economic recovery are all over the business media. These subjects are the current hot topics no matter where you look. Like it or not, the government is getting larger and reaching into the free market at an unprecedented rate.

A potential switching of the guard to a quasi socialistic American society may have begun. A society where the Federal Government takes a lead role in many business endeavors under the guise of "recovery". Unfortunately, I don't see a way this trend can be reversed; however, there may be a way long term investors can profit from it. The government needs to keep track and provide transparency to its use and misuse of taxpayer funded recovery capital.

Our Long Term PowerRated Stock Spotlight company today is MicroStrategy (Nasdaq:MSTR - News), a 5 Long Term PowerRated company that has just developed software to accomplish the tracking and transparency of the Federal recovery efforts. Named Recovery.gov Dashboard, this tool provides at a glance insights into the current data available at the Recovery.gov website.

This timely innovation is just one aspect of MicroStrategy, a company that specializes in business intelligence software. The company started in 1989 providing software that transforms operational data into actionable information. Their business intelligence platform assists companies with query, reporting and advanced analytics. The insight developed by the software can be distributed by the web, wireless, and voice. MicroStrategy now boasts over 500 partners and 1000's of satisfied clients. This software is widely considered to be the best in the world for business intelligence. Examples of major clients include ebay, Dick's Sporting Goods, Avon, and Estee Lauder.

They used the first quarter of 2009 to capitalize software development costs for the MicroStrategy 9 release, therefore the major metrics were slightly down over first quarter 2008. Net Income was up substantially in the first quarter 2009 over same time last year. They launched deals with the Army, McDonald's, Starbucks and Coca Cola, among many others, in the first quarter of 2009 indicating strong future growth potential in the private sector.

Technically, MicroStrategy has been in a ripping uptrend. Price is above both the 50 and 200-day SMA's. However, a double top appears to have formed at the $47.00/share level on the daily chart.

remember our goal is only a few high probability entries per day, ride each entry to maximum profit but quit when ahead or when directional edge loses clarity.

what happened to the most important variable of the trade......the initial stop loss that defines ones risk?

on a short term time frame, which is what you are utilizing, there is no more important part of a trade than the ISL.

the initial stop is defined by your risk tollerance, size, etc. it's strictly up to you. staying flat here.

But seriously.....

I like you Surf, why don't you start a system (this particular system) on C2, then we could even make money following your calls and there would be a record for everyone to see?

Otherwise what's the point?
