I would phrase it somewhat differently. A trader needs confidence and conviction, but not the tendencies of grandiose thinking.
Quote from Trane:
Conviction is for pussies and the only reason I am confident is because I long ago figured out that I am weak and stupid...

Hey O,
I'm in agreement on that. As far as conviction being for _______ , I'll take that side vs. weak, & stupid everyday.
Negative thoughts, beliefs, & actions produce negative results! From my perspective weak, & stupid are eliminated, leaving strong, & smart. This then requires 1 to raise their level of competence in order to remain in the business, or the game. The flipside I guess is if you realize your weak, & stupid, you may avoid certain areas.
On a sarcastic note, I find this funny, on a serious 1 I find it pathetic, self deprecating, & of no value.
Just my .02!
Glad to hear your day went well O! Take care!
God Bless & GFtY! Kelly

Man, sometimes I read these boards and one thing always sticks out. You seem to think and portray yourself higher than everyone else, specifically in this post on what "professionals" do. I can tell you professionals make mistakes all the time, ALL THE TIME.
You write and talk with such a condascending tone, it makes me vomit. I can tell you this, that I am sure there are traders reading these boards that would trade circles around you, and they wouldn't even dare write with the tone that they could give some other "professional" advice, or even a lecture. Just goes to show you have no idea how hard and difficult this profession really is.
It's called mush. It's called stepping out of your boundaries and knowing the market will humble anyone who trades it, regardless of discipline. At one time or another, we all let our guards down...
Of course, that is except you, WDGANN.... pass the napkins, I just vomited again.
