I would rather say it is experience based on hope.

SO the plot thickens... the "portfolio parameters" allow for a trade that is "terrible" and a "mistake" but not for a trade that is a "terrible mistake"? You start sounding like a Jesuit 200 years ago.
:D

:D :D :D

a terrible mistake portends to mean and project the connotation of overall destruction and fallout. exactly the spin tdog is aiming for.

my words "the trade is terrible and a mistake" portends to mean and project the connotation of a specific and direct situation without far ranging consequences.

the difference is obvious. no jesuit needed, LOL !

It would sound like a total fallacy on MS's behalf IF the method that he uses was not short any more. Since it is and he is still within his risk parameters, then I don't see anything out of wack. I could not trade this way, like ever, but if his yearly results have been positive based on same principals, then we can not judge based on how we would have done it, ImO.

However, if stops are allowed to be this wide, then how realistic would it be to expect benefit to equal or even beat negative equity IF you were to get 2-3 consecutive losses in 1 year?

Oh, yes, I'm the spin meister here: "specific and direct situation without far ranging consequences" vs "overall destruction and fallout." Yes indeed, surfer has such an amazing grasp of the difference and hidden meaning of those two terms. Oh, no. I've been foiled again.

Maybe not like a Jesuit... just like Bill Clinton
:)

The bad thing about surf's trade is if it, say, goes back in the money and he covers it for a profit, it would just be reinforcing a negative behavior. :(

LOL, bad for whom?

It's not bad for anyone reading this soap opera, because no one here is even going to remotely entertain taking a trade such as this.

It's not bad for MS, because it's just a paper trade and he has no accountability to anyone but the thread readers (all five of them), so he can "spin it" any way he likes.

Nah man, I'm definitely not jealous of your hits on your internet thread.

But you have confirmed what you're really in the business of doing, and why the mods protect your pathetic attempts at showing everyone that you're a real trader ... as we all know that isn't true. :D

But hey, make your money how you can, I'm all for that 100%.
