I agree to an extent. One could also trade futures but that is a whole different ballgame that most can't handle. It's a numbers game and people just don't seem to get that in order to get the returns for a decent living, you either have to take large risks, or you have to use extreme leverage because over the long term you are not going to generate above average returns year after year. Surf, take those old channels you used to have and add a breakout system to your toolset. In the midst of figuring out how I'm going to add one myself -and hindsight here look at how price reacted even to pivots or EMA's that fed day - even better two days before Fed. July, August, September, all would have given one FAT trade per month. - And we don't have to call it 'trend' if that is still a bad word.

sorry to hear. unfortunately when you roll the dice sometimes you get burned. you could have possibly made some money?.. their is always next time.. holding a position before a fed move is just asking to get raped..... no offence, i like my money to much, nothing more than greed for those that get hurt, just the hard cold facts. have to take the good with the bad, but done by your own hands, as a experienced trader , you know the danger.. hopefully you will trade differently if you don't like the pain of losing money in the future, happens to the best of us.
