the poster known as "they" has an interesting concept of shorting if the channel is approached but not violated. this would have worked nicely thus far today. will monitor. thanks !

hi,

we are currently flat in the channel, but the change of date has altered the channel. the current dow gann channel is 8577 to 8397---the lower figure has risen by 100 points. the nasdaq channel is currently 1427 to 1343---- a fifty point lifting of the lower figure. we will be continuing to trade off of these channels for the index system. we have made no equity daytrades today in our portfolio--- risk/reward not good for longer than scalp time

all the best,

surf:)

greetings,

it "appears" that we are going to catch a very nice upwave in the dow this morning !!! I AM PSYCHED. for those of you following along--its time to invoke the positive level trailing stop gap rule, to capture max profit :)--- still flat in the nasdaq--it also appears that it will gap thru the upper channel--remember wait 12 minutes mark the high--that is the new entry level, if we stay above it --go longgggg.

oh yeah !! we caught a VERY nice up wave today in the the dow and nasdaq. holding all longs here overnight, expecting further upside before taking profits via trailing stops.

the previous post stating our stop levels seems to have vanished. our trailing stops have been hit with nice profits in dow and nasdaq. we are currently FLAT here.

best,

surf

closing the longs seems to have been a good move. we captured much of the move up and are currently flat in dow and nasdaq over the weekend. will calculate next gann channel soon.

have a great weekend !!

marketsurfer,

i was just checking out your journal to see what your trading style is like. you've mentioned that you use a gann wheel. i found what i think is a gann wheel here:
http://www.lambertganneducators.com/images/gann_calclogo2.jpg

i also found a gann wheel program that seems to do what a physical gann wheel does. i've tried the program and i will attach a screenshot.

is that what you use? would i need something else? what do i do with it? i know these are big questions... i'm just wondering if i'm on the right track or not.

thanks

p.s.  <-- when i look at a gann wheel.
