The Surf Report

The shit is flying from both sides so heavily, that I had to think a good 30 secs if I should step in, but hey, this is entertainment right? :)

Quote from HolyGrail:

Since there is more than a 200 point difference between the contracts,

The difference is actually almost exactly 100 points my dear friend, according to my quotes last trades were 13408 and 13503, YMU7 and YMZ7 as of right now.

You didn't do a typo did you? :)

Than you must be lying...

Now for the record, I have my own doubts about the reality of Surf's trades, because would a trader let a real position to turn from a 300 points winner to a -50 loser?
Either the trader is incredibly stupid or it is not real money.

But hey, the thread is getting more fun! I say bring it on!!!

Mr. Objectivity

P.S.: Here is another one who doesn't trade:

Quote from EPrado:

It's futures trading 101. 200 point difference in prices is a bit much to overlook.

Nah...obviously there is a huge differential at roll time...I dont trade ym's so I assumed the other guy was right. Please forgive me.

I agree with your assesment...either smurf is incredibly stupid or isnt really trading.

Quote from marketsurfer:

SURF ALERT SURF ALERT

we are taking profits here in the YM longs @ 13480.

REVERSING and SHORTING @ 13478

surf

That's a hell of a lot of typos. Plus the genius shorted at the bottom.

What a trader :)

Those options need not be mutually exclusive.

As I had written earlier, I noticed a ~100-point difference between the September and December contracts, which happened to be the exact error that marketsurfer attributed to his typo. As you wrote earlier, that is all the proof needed. He may be able to pass off this amazing coincidence as a typo to morons, but the rest of us see the writing on the wall quite clearly.

OK guys, points have been pounded home (again and again and again). Sometimes people forget that less is more, so let's please move on to bigger and greener pastures. If The Surf Report offends you or is not your cup 'o java then latch on one of the many other threads. But enough already, please, as I don't want to have to do a big cleanup and remove oh so many well-intentioned (cough, cough) pearls of wisdom. Thanks.

It's just not a mistake a trader makes if he REALLY has the position on. I trade primarily sp's. If I bought them at 1485 and they closed at 1487. Then the next day they are at 1496 +1.00 I would not think I have 11 points profit. It would be a 3 point profit. Common sense. If surf wants to have a blog/thread with all his trades, great. But he lies...thats the reason I rip on the guy. He constantly says "his sources told him info nobody has"...."his top quant did this". He is trying to act like Mr. Big Fund Manager. Then he says he is in trades after they go his way...or says he exited losers a long time ago well before current prices. The best was his YM trade where it hit his stop and rallied huge...he comes out later saying he never got out. The guy is a joke. Nothing more than an attention whore.
