we are back close to even on the index trades. the decision has been made to HOLD longs in nasdaq and djia overnight . holding long djia, nasdaq, tasr and msft 25 leap. holding bbi short.

Yo surf, FWIW word on the street is that viacom is close to a deal for it's 82% stake of BBI. Supposedly they are selling it to a group of private investors. That may be a catalyst for some support of BBI, but as always take it with a grain of salt.

thanks for the info. i am keeping a close eye on BBI.

what i find most interesting is a major hedge fund manager, barton biggs, believes that greenspan will raise interest rates .25 basis points in february or march on a preemptive basis. the fed's target interest rate has not been increased from 1% since may 2000. they may be preempting having to raise rates close to the november elections. who knows ?

holding all positions into the open.

Surf I am digging this SINA short. Short in the 34.0x range, but didn't get all the size I wanted, and didn't get to post it in a timely manner,it was moving too fast and I had distractions at home! (grr). There is still time to get in! Feel free to lean a 300,000 share sell order to help me out :). I'm hoping for a pop back to get some more, try and get my basis in the 34.2x range which is where I want it.

After more price action since my original heads-up, my initial target is 31. I suspect it may fall even more on this wave. Stop is at 35.60. I also like the looks of the Jan 30 put options, might nab some if we get a pop this morning.

Depending on what general market does, this baby could really break up on re-entry (read: it's bubblelicious). Also possible it could turn on a dime.

nice trading, td80 ! thanks for the earlier heads up on SINA.

we are holding longs in nas and dow into the open today. took hit on TASR long but still holding here as it is a longer term play, stopped out of BBI short yesterday--that was a fun one !

we are closing the index longs here with nice gains in DJIA and loss in NASDAQ. the next surfer trading channel is 9903-9827 DJIA and 1927--1977 NASDAQ. as always, long above short below and FLAT in the middle.

we were stopped out of the first djia long today, the system triggered long again from 9903. we are presently long the dow entering friday. flat nasdaq.
