The Surf Report--part 2

Amazing how bwolinsky and spooz top become the most concerned about surf's position right at the top. These guys have become a signal in and of themselves. The only guy missing was eprado.

There's an old trading principle...when the perceived risk is the highest, is when the potential gains are the highest.

He's strangely silent. Maybe selling his exchange for a few billion this morning?

With the increased volatility this morning, the market spread for that exchange has widened somewhat: It went from 3 cents bid - 3 billion offer yesterday, to 2 cents bid - 3 billion offer today.:p

20/20 vision after the fact....brave statement,OTl....where were you yesterday....day late & dollar short.

go back to 2006-11 journals & you will find that Surf & Islands are the greatest fades ever to grace ET.....welcome to the party, handsome!

btw,i would never begrudge anyone a solid call....i always give credit where it is due......right along with criticism when risk is open ended & not defined in short term windows......that is trading 101.

I still read this thread. Is still entertaining. But once it became obvious that Surf was doing all his trading on a simulator I lost interest in talking trading with him, and posting here. I can't talk trading with guys who aren't traders. Traders are people who back their calls with real money. What he is doing is laughable to any real trader.

Am glad you are so infatuated with my well being though. Being a price action guy am loving these moves.....hopefully you are enjoying them to.

Funny how this old trader guy cherry picks when he shows up....only after Surf's "call" is in the green. Very weak on his part. Hard to believe he was some pit guy from the old days. Do they have simulators in the pits as well?

Quote from Grandluxe:

Thank you for your calls surf. I want to see what TA cultists like B Wolinsky say for themselves in missing such a huge move where your esteemed self has managed to capture by staying true to principles.

You are very welcomed, Luxe. Yes, the system nailed another huge huge downmove while the TA cultus and fixed price system types see their valueless models of the effect melt down.

Continuing to hold short here.

following the "cause" with the price drivers

There has been a slight shift in the underlying price driver matrix. While it remains bearish, it has shifted slightly to the bullish side---- with this in mind, a stop placed at 1157 to capture profits if price moves higher.

We are uncertain here if the downmove will continue=--= 1157 should indicate the tipping point if not.

Please note, while we have demonstrated the highly accurate market calls with the pricedriver system--- the exits remain a work in progress---

Quote from marketsurfer:

No, this is just a short term, perhaps technically driven bounce--- the downward trajectory will resume. About B/E on the trade now. Price drivers remain exceedingly bearish --- the hammer may slam down shortly......When this happens, your technical models will melt before your eyes....

Even the AP reads the surf report--- note choice of words in the headline...

<b>Wall Street Slammed Amid Global Growth Concerns, Euro Zone Woes- AP
Thursday's plunge meant a return of volatility that has sent stocks falling since July 21. It came after stocks had been relatively stable this week -- a time when investors were calmed by strong earnings reports. ... » read more

Ergo.....making calls and trading have zero to do with each other. You just said it all. One can say that the market is heading south, but get decimated trading that idea. Like you did last week. Sure at some point you can be right.

At the end of the day you can come out anytime 24/7 and make a "call", but without knowing how to trade or have a gameplan ready one will never make it...be a scratch trader at best.

Your overall calls are accurate at times, in a volatile mkt EVERY call is accurate at some point.

What you call your "exits" are actually the whole trade. You "might" have some good analysis, but you have no real strategy or really no idea how to trade it. But that's not a surprise to me. Guys like yourself who are very well educated and smart can do great analysis, but fail at trading (See VN).

Thanks for the compliment, but a small correction of fact.

VN did not fail at trading. I would venture to say that he is net positive $50 million plus-- even after the blow ups. Does he have some demons that haunt him, sure, we all do--- but overall VN is far from a failure at trading.

PS. by the way, I am meeting with him next weekend-- i'll be sure to pass along your sentiments. :D :D
