The Surf Report--part 2

Quote from eudaemon:

I was 90% sure surferboy was a hobbyist. Now I'm certain. .

Yes, I don't trade for a living. I am a small time hedge fund hack foraging on the scraps ignored by the whales and a journalist--- trading and market analysis is just part of the surfermarketbook. best, surf:D

Quote from Pekelo:

I guess you are right and I agree if you mean this part:

"Only time will tell for certain how the future will play out. "

This is so much wisdom that must be from Confucius...

Correct--- speaking about this trade only. We will know in the fullness of time--- however, RCG is speaking historically and is correct--- RCG has followed my calls for quite a long time.

best,

surf

The flexions of the market are acting to attract the maximum number of bulls prior to smacking them down to obtain the needed monetary lubrication to keep the machinery running smoothly. Once the the final bull has been drawn in by the choppy topping action, the flexions will simply take all the money from those not nimble enough to exit resulting in the projected downward spiral. Smart paitence is a virtue during these times. stay tuned.

Surf, The biggest problem for any trader is when the desire to be right is greater than the desire to profit. All one has to do is read your posts to see that you very clearly suffer from this affliction. Any professional trader (those that earn their living from trading) will tell you this.

I trade as my sole source of income and I have no idea what the market is going to do. The market doesn't give a rat's ass about my opinions.

All very true. And well stated. However, you are overlooking the genius that is marketsurfer. Consider a couple of his recent posts:
Quote from marketsurfer:

To address the emails --- I have not turned into a bear. In fact, after this pending meltdown, I am fully expecting a Massive bull market unlike anything that has been seen previously. it will leave the disbelievers and permanent bears baffled. It's going to happen.
Quote from marketsurfer:

a mere classic dead cat bounce------ another shock may create the drop to come..... Prepare folks, the shake out may be brutal---then the glorious bull market to end all bulls
So you see, he is expecting the market to go both down and up. Whatever may happen, his premonition will be correct. His timing may prove to be "slightly off," but he remains ET's resident visionary all the same. And that is all that matters.

If Surf is trading on a longer time horizon there might be no reason for him to assume he is wrong. He might be simply patiently sticking with a position till he is proved right or wrong. He has a plan.

Why do people love to shoot against surf? He has not done anything crazy.

That's true...but why do you care how surf trades or parts way with his money? After all his losses should be your gains, right?

It boggles my mind on how people care to comment or argue how flawed his style of trading is...but bottom line...it is his choice of how he spends or blows his money.

Quote from Gabfly1:

...I suppose it all comes down to context. And so, we'll see how surf's faith pans out over time and across a larger number of trades. This is why I had previously asked surf if he was going to keep a running balance of his P/L in this journal thread -- to establish this very context. However, he advised that he would not do so, thereby placing the very purpose of this thread in question...

This is a journal thread. Should responses be limited to fawning?

Probably because he likes to use words like:

"we suggest"* and " SURF ALERT"

If it was just his trading blog neither expression should exist in it....This is more like a free signal service.

* Luckily, his "team" hasn't made an appearance in the 2nd part (yet)
