There actually is a serious problem in this country and it's the fact that we have to keep importing labor. And I don't mean from Mexico. We have some so many jobs that require "math" and "analytical" skills and very few people to fill them. If you think about it, the middle class 50 years ago, who was it? It was the factory worker. It was the guy at the plant. It was a guy with a high school education with little to no skill. Well today, to be middle class you better know calculus. And if you don't know how to crunch data, you better be able to analyze it. The bar is pretty high now and it's a natural evolution. Technology is replacing the no skill jobs. That same plant worker from 50 years ago would be working at Walmart today. And the scary thing is, 50 years from now, you better be even smarter. Too many kids today waste their time on facebook and social media. And to think they could be reading books. They could be learning.
But opportunity? Oh Jesus there is plenty of it. Now more then ever. But it's pay to play. You have to step up and be able to do something. It reminds me a lot of ET. Ten years ago you could come on ET and draw squiggly lines on a chart and make a killing with an 8th grade education. Today you better have kick ass quantitative skills. And it shows. This website is full of those guys with absolutely no skills to speak of trying to trade and can't. The world evolves. It's always moving forward. You can't sit still or you fall behind. Most people on ET don't understand that.
