The Super Terrific Happy Hour

Friday and Monday could get very interesting too imho
Markets fall from lows, not from highs.

The attempt at a nap was good but all i could do is look at quotes, im short ES 2419.75 now. we go to 2400 today, its only 2 contracts but i couldnt chase it down, i needed a pullback. :D

Have a cup of tea and relax.
No positions here, I'm going to go short at the open

Thx Chuck, for the kind words, well spoken, i was getting geared up to tee off on the first thing i saw, but instead shorted a few ES at the top of the bounce and got out of all of it at a profit, atleast its not negative, this day could have gone much worse if i didnt think about what i was doing.

Im in Saskatchewan, sometimes we are in mountain timezone, sometimes not. A long time ago some stupid rule got set where we would not change our clocks because they were worried that the cows would not be able to be milked properly if we changed the timezone. As far as i know we are the only ones who dont change our time zone. Sooooo in the summer time i lose an hour (market opens at 7:30) in the winter time gain an hour (Market opens at 8:30) we never change our clocks.

My problem isnt as much about being up at 5:30 A.M. as it is about falling asleep before the sun is down, i really struggle in june july and august, i need 6-8 hours of sleep, but many times i just cant possibly fall asleep when the sun is still up in the summer, so the sun drops at like 10:00-11, then i fall asleep at 12, then got to be up at 5:30, then hit the snooze a couple times like you said, then feel guilty about it, lol.

I totally understand your dilemma dude, any time i hit the snooze bar after a tough weekend i hate myself, so i eventually get up and rush myself, but trading is all about the process, you dont wake up 2 hours before market open and you arent prepared for the moves right off the open unless something good is out there.

Anyways, thx for all the posts in here Beerntrading, please keep adding your trading ideas this is supposed to be a journal for all of us, sorry i havent been keeping up on my end, but im in vacation mode right now, im probably leaving for a bachelor party early on Friday as well but after that im good for the whole summer, i really like getting my free time in while i have a chance in the summer, cause its hard to disconnect from the market alot of the time.

Where are you going on vacation?
Damn...6 pages in a day! I wondered if that pic was Canada. A lake of that size, with a west view, without mountains, with green vegetation, in the mountain timezone doesn't describe many places in the US.

Vacation is beach in North Carolina.

And I (usually) wake up about 10 mins before the market with my alarm, hit snooze once, and check everything when the alarm goes off again at 7:29.

Edit: oh, forgot, as for trade ideas, I'm long on TTM for a $34 8/18 call since Friday. Looking for $36 and $37 as exits...I'd be bullish to mid $39s if I were watching closely, but just have this one on autopilot for vacation.

I had it in my head that you were Canadian--I was just surprised to see you in the same time zone as me. Most Canadians I speak to come from very near a coast (be it Great Lakes / St. Lawrence, or one of the oceans).

Also, great call on ES / SPX. How'd you fare today? As an aside, it got me looking at the bearish case for the S&P so I opened a put position this morning :D

LOL, its very respectable you said Great Lakes/ St. Lawrence, most Americans just ask if im from Toronto or Vancouver.

Only 2500, should have made 5 figures on that lol, here is a chart with all the entries and all the exits, i struggled for 14 hours with the ES and finally came out on top, dont know if thats persistence or stupidity, i lean towards the latter.

I mean theres really to words that can do this chart justice, i was shorting the ES the whole way down from like 3:00A.M. yesterday morning and somehow kept losing money till i finally caught it at the bottom, this is the kind of stupidity that can blow out an account, i was just so convinced i was right i attempted the same ideas like 4 times in a row, it paid out, but it should have punished me. :(

I'm just a geography nut. My friends are amazed at how I can look at a map for like 2 mins in a totally new (European) city, and find my way to our destination without having to look again...
On a larger scale, you've got to get deep into Asia or Africa before there's a city of 100k that I don't know.

Hey, chalk up the "W" and call this one a winner. I wouldn't complain about that.

Yep your right, a "W" is a "W" as long as im not losing i usually can accept it, but im always hypercritical of myself when i look back on a chart, and i had the right idea. Maybe i should eliminate all the entry exit arrows from the charts cause they tend to make you feel like you missed the chart almost always, even when your right.
