Well.... of course they're not BS... but stocks are making over-extended moves on news that is years into the future. Its like 1999 all over again. Peapod dot com wanted to deliver groceries bought online... 17 years later AMZN is just getting its feet wet. Peapod is in some Silicon Valley museum.Im not sure i agree with you on the whole autonomous car thing being bullshit, its still probably 10 years off, but i could see how CAR and HTZ could actually be positioned well to take advantage of it. Imagine travelling to a city you know nothing about and being able to rent a car that can drive you where ever you wanna go on command.
Ive ready a lot of articles thinking the autonomous car thing is going to be a massive shift to the way we drive, where people no longer end up owning cars at all anymore cause it becomes so cheap to call an autonomous car which will be everywhere, to take you where you want to go.
Sure, they will get here someday.... but what kind of multiple does one assign a stock based on something that is ten years down the road and has about a trillion hurdles to overcome? And how much additional revenue will Avis see for the next 8 quarters off of this? Its all hyped up BS.
And in this particular case....all it is is a service contract! Change the oil, rotate the tires, and vacuum them out. WTF
.... we are in a new bubble I'm tellin ya.
