The student is ready

The gbp/chf is flat as a pancake. How on earth did you trade it?
Cswim, I don't trade below the daily timeframe. Tonight I "paper" traded the daily timeframe for the years 2012 and 2013 - no actual trades were taken. I agree that it looks pretty flat now on the lower timeframes.

phew! Had me scared.

Funny how some people think trading is easy work, and I wonder how they came up with that silly way of thinking!

Well, it is easier----now. But then 90,000 plus screen hours ago I had a pencil, ruler and graph paper. Calculators cost $100, fill up tank was 4 bucks and got change back from a buck to get cheeseburger, fries and coke at McDonalds. LOL computers were mainframes taking up two rooms and freezing cold temps to do couple years of data with three moving averages. Newspapers classified had dozen of pages of jobs, page of data punchers. Food tasted good without all the sugar they put into it now.

Now with automation, programmed platforms-all I have to do is pick where I want to get in on manual trades, walk away to watch rest of Flintstones, Yabba dabba do.

But I would not want to be a newb these days, so much garbage out there, can't tell what is good or not, and absolutely have to know how to program, otherwise going to take forever.

Good trading all morrow.

I am enjoying my return to trading, as not only can you make good money, but it is very good for the brain, which can help greatly with keeping that dreaded Alzheimer's away, as an awful lot of people get it nowadays.

However, I am under no illusions, and the foundations for the house are currently being poured, with more than 6 inches of concrete:)

Time is money, so best to use the time wisely, and always be thinking how to improve and get better, for, the day we think we know something, is the day we start to lose, and that is not the type of losing we want to get used to!

It really is amazing how quickly you forget things, and how fast they come back once you apply yourself and start to do the required work.

I got the impression that the TFF group were invincible traders, sharing secrets supporting each other. So why (as Time=Money) did you take a break from daytraying, financial meltdown, personal issues, other prorities, better ways to spend your time?

Hey MN

No matter what - we're all human..., we all fuck up..., we are all susceptible to life

Not suggesting I was.., or am - part of the TFF

I'm simply another human

Trade Well All - screw the results

Me too.

I was just curious and a little mischievous in asking the question.

Handle. Just curious, What kind of front end do you use for automation, and what programming language?

My staff did charting, platform then automation last in python. I was using Ninja Trader for longest time but so many things I wanted and Ninja either couldn't handle or would freeze up cause of limits, like I wanted to be able to load up tick data for ten years plus to do back testing, wanted to have stock scanner to do unlimited scanning instead of 500, wanted much better way of entering trades instead of Dom, wanted much more information on my Dom, sort of blend volume into Dom, I can do complex money management for manual day trades, how many contracts to put on has to do with how much is going on in time and sales, many things I don't want to be looking at when your eyes should be on the chart itself.
