Okay, here's the real me, a guy named George. I'd say a good 60% of my family, friends and acquaintances lean left, some further than others. Certainly more of them than people I know who lean right. A couple, and I mean like 2 or 3 than are what I would call extremists, both sides of the coin. The rest you can have a civil, rational conversation with about politics. While those on the left are certainly unhappy, they will acknowledge, with regard to immigration and most other issues, that there are very few clean hands in the mess, and both parties have done a very poor job. Now this is face to face conversations. I'd be willing to bet my last buck than their on-line persona has a considerably harder edge to it. I know mine does. Isn't anyone going to get punched in the face in keyboard warrior world, and therein lies the problem. No need for civil discourse in this imaginary cyber world. We have a media more than willing to fan the flames of the cyber hysteria, and a political system that gives it far too much serious consideration. What we see on the news, hear on talk radio, is not, IMO, a true representation of how the general population at large really feels. As a nation, with the usual 10% headcase exceptions which the media will exploit for the headline, we are much more willing to compromise and find suitable solutions. That's my take, a guy named George. Now the Captain, he says die you lefty scum.

The uni-bomber was right, this technology thing will kill us all. He too could have improved upon his method of delivering that message. Some pun intended.
