The stock_trad3r 2007-2008 market recession

Short but sweet. The window of opportunity may not be very long but boy have people made fortunes hitting shorts this past 3 months.

Your strategy fails in a falling day, because you cannot short. A strategy which goes both long and short is superior.

so many loser bashers here

No one makes money for long going short in this market.

NO it isn't because you dont know when to go long and then switch to short and vice versa. By going short you miss out on the morning gaps and other benefits of going long.

Futures already rallying

NASDAQ 2,183.00 2.25 0.10

QQQQ up 9 cents

Should be a very good day tomorrow

Not sure which makes less sense, saying that you miss out on morning gaps by being short (implying that gaps only happen to the upside) or saying tommorrow should be a very good day because of a tiny uptick in futures less than three hours after the close (not that it matters, but the S&P futures are currently down more than the nasdaq futures are up).

Frankly, stock_trad3r has been the most accurate poster on the whole site. He has the balls to say buy when everyone is too nervous to do so. Last I checked, the market was very close to an all-time high after having consistently made higher highs. The guy has been spot on. At least give him some credit. The fact that he has one theme (Buy) doesn't take away the fact that it has been exactly the right thing to do.

betting against the smarties is a bad idea. The smarties want the market to go much higher..15000 for the dow by 2008 or so.

The smarties are bidding it at the close again. This indicates there is tons of buying strength left. There is huge global growth and tons of consumer anfg global spending.

Massive earnings. Huuuge growth for exporters. Tons of cheap labor. Lower inflation, rising oil and gold. Tons of domand for materials. Tons of credit card debt. Tons of demand for student loans and colleges. need college education to make money and be a good consumer. Need to vote and be a well rounded person. Need to buy more. Need to spend more on Christmas shopping.

Santa rally coming+ 2008 election rally. Huge buying. Huge consumer spending. Need lead toys from china.

I dont see an end to this buying anytime soon. 10 years, 20 years, 30 years from now we'll still be having this debate and I will still be winning.

I know everything.

this sounds so 1999 !

Not true, after massive selloffs (more than 2 days) he disappears until market starts rallying again. He does say buy the dips a lot on single down days tho.

lol..it sure does. Those who forget the past are bound to repeat it. You can mess with one thing in a market and MAYBE get away with it.

But when you take out housing and kill the debt market both at once.....You're skating on 1 inch of ice in 90 degree heat.
