The stock markets in the Biden era - will volatility diminish?

Because it’s an idiotic idea for a number of reasons. And thanks for that - it’s a great example of Joe’s enduring incompetence largely ignored by the media. Here’s Reason, a libertarian site, explaining why shooting armed suspects in the legs is ludicrous and unworkable:

https://reason.com/2020/10/15/joe-biden-townhall-cops-shoot-in-the-leg/

https://www.police1.com/patrol-issu...cally-legally-or-tactically-6bOdYvNUEECtIWRI/

Wonder how idiotic is this idea that not implementing it results in billions of dollars of property damaged, economy coming to halt in various cities and immense hatred and animosity seeped into the minds and actions of the various sections of the society. Every time a dolthead "ill trained" US police officer shoots a barely armed person, the enemies of the US can't but help throwing in a chuckle and a wink.

If there is a vaccine can be found for the corona virus(COVID-19), then the pandemic problem is fixed and unlock the economy. Otherwise, he will struggle with the senate for stimulus and the market volatility continues. So far, there is no vaccine for corona virus let alone COVID-19.

The lockdowns were mostly political. Look at the crowds gathering outside the Whitehouse yesterday. Many without masks. No media outrage over the large gatherings. Suddenly, large gatherings are absolutely fine. I predict that over the next few months, regardless if there is a vaccine or not or regardless of the C19 hospitalizations...you'll stop hearing about C19. It will be like SARS or that other outbreak from 2009.

I prefer non-Trump volatility. Trump making insane tweets at random times creates opportunities for discretionary traders but for systematic approaches it adds randomness. In any case, I don't see volatility for US going down as there's a lot of issues ongoing.
I prefer a president who is just a figurehead sitting on his hands and doing nothing at all.

Trump absolutely mismanaged and bungled the COVID response and it cost him reelection
Your remark is not even close to reality. Americans don't like the idea of being shut down and told what to do. It was the governors, , who put in stringent measures.

He lost primarily for one reason. He recognized it too late. His boorish insulting behavior towards woman turned the moms in suburbia against him. If not for his reckless behavior towards ordinary family women he would have been the president elect. Women made Biden, the president.

WHAT about the Chicoms?? When they execute someone/instead of paying the crooks family money like some doltheads do in US; they send them the bill for the bullet. By the way its not just the'' bearly armed/barely armed '' that are a threat, its size+ mental state + obeying a lawful order …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..:caution::caution::caution::caution::caution::caution::caution:

Thinking about best sector plays re long solar, ev, cannabis stocks.... what else? Re healthcare, inverse oil etc

Always following VIX and S&P daily ranges, VIX down sharply Friday

Surely not only towards women?

I've been partially positive towards Trump, but lately it's just been too much. His behavior post-election just proves his critics right.

If he just had a tiny bit more class, elegance and intelligence, he could have been great. Then again, those traits may not be compatible with Trump.

If the media continues to carry water for Biden - hiding his corruption, outright ignoring or covering up his manifold gaffes and misstatements then maybe. Trump will continue to Tweet as long as he has an account and millions of Twitter followers.

Just about every position Biden has taken during his Senate career he has backtracked and flip flopped on when it suits him, so I’m not sure how much “certainty” as you call it will stick.

Say what you want - Trump never got us into a war (not for the lack of trying with Iran). Biden never met a war he didn’t like during his time in the Senate and as VP.

Trump absolutely mismanaged and bungled the COVID response and it cost him reelection. Biden takes office twelve months later, but nothing will materially change - work will continue on a vaccine and it will be the States that manage their regional responses. Joe Biden will take whatever advice the CDC gives - and as we know, that advice is far from perfect. The WHO simply can’t be trusted anymore.

It’s not Biden that the markets like, it’s the gridlock.

100% correct, especially re a better covid response and he would have won.

Not sure what channels you were watching...I was watching CBCNews, BBC news and ABC news. Most in the audience / streets were wearing face masks and those that were not...I did hear the media mention there "are some individuals" or "small minority of individuals" not wearing face masks.

In addition, they the media news channels specifically mentioned multiple times that there's "obvious no social distancing".

People celebrating in the streets for the new elected President, people storming the football field after Notre Dame defeated undefeated Clemson...many without wearing face masks...obviously no social distancing are NOT the people leading the country.

Yet, those leading the country and speaking to their supporters directly at "rallies"...if they are not leading by example...
  • That's the outrage.
I predict as long as people are dying from Covid-19 or become long haulers and other countries (e.g. Spain, Germany, France, U.K.) are still doing lockdowns / targeted restrictions...

You'll continue to hear about Covid-19...very loudly.

Lastly, countries that were prepared for a Pandemic, had a population willing to do what it takes to manage a lockdown and listen to their health officials...
  • They did not do a lockdown or only needed to do a lockdown lite.
In contrast, those countries that knew they were not prepared and / or knew their population could not manage a "no lockdown" response...those countries had no choice but to do a lockdown. Unfortunately, many of the latter had a shitting organized re-opening and now paying the price for such (e.g. 2nd lockdown).

Note: Video below by BBC that I watched in real-time...people were wearing face masks and using their autos as a way to social distance.
