I really like this short. Probably one of the best risk rewards shorts in quite a while

If there are pesticides(And the statement just raises my confidence that there are, they didn't even tried to pull an EDU and deny stuff) chances of the deal decrease. If the deal falls apart the stock is likely to be headed much lower than the pre-buyout price of $10

The fact that is an M&A stock makes it a better short due squeezes be capped by takeout price. A raised bid is quite unlikely, specially in light of these news

Rare thing indeed: a limited risk short. From what I can see it had come down nicely since its IPO. Starbucks probably thought they were getting it cheap. So much for that.
 
This short seems really nice. Seems like a mixture of NXY and FMCN to me, NXY because its more likely than not that the news flow coming down the pipe will increase the spread to the takeout price(stock will go down at least 50 cents-$1 due uncertainty) and FMCN because its likely the people behind the deal will find out some smelly stuff

With FMCN who knows what is going on behind the scenes, relationships are huge to ibankers so maybe even if they find the fraud they might go ahead with it. But in TEA the reason seemed economical and market share from the get go

TEA was doing an arbitrage of some people's craving for healthy products and getting an inflated profit margin by lying. Once SBUX finds that out the economics of the deal go out of the window
 
TEA business model is totally bust in a market economy with a relatively free press I just hope they don't get lucky
 
I'm curious how TEA sales representatives will deal with these reports. I might call them tomorrow and over the next weeks because the minute they stop saying that the teas don't have pesticides sales will tank and they can't continue to say because its a lie that the company didn't even address on their PR
