The Short Violent Life of a Market Order

Hi, I'm wondering where NYSE matches up trades for a market order. I assume a buy mkt buys thru the market and takes out whatever is on the book. What if there are multiple sell mkts coming in at the same time as your buy mkt, will NYSE match any of these mkt orders up?
 
Yes, and you usually get price improvement you never expected... but they have to come at pretty much the exact same time, I'd say out of 300 trades/week it happens maybe once-twice on average.
