FNM reported much better earnings than expected and is now off the short list, at least for now.

Well looks like I screwed up shorting the airlines.After CAL's excellent report, only losing $2.75,they are off to the races.

i would advise against any shorting this wk.

airlines are getting $3 billion from the government as part of the wartime spending bill.

true that shorting is dangerous this week, still seems to be some upward momentum and spec. buying going on, especially in techs.

Your list looks interesting. ABC has a decent setup, with a break of short term trendline and the break is occurring in a downtrend after a weak pullback. A caveat though is that all of these stocks have been in extended downtrends with the best short entries already gone by. A lot of time has passed and that leads me to believe that taking profits swiftly might not be a bad thing. So my take on ABC is a breakdown, short pullback, then resumption of downtrend into support at 45.70. If it breaks that, there should be further entries down the line.

Of the original list, ABC has displayed relative weakness and is in the process of putting in a reversal bar after the anticipated pullback. I'm not too hot on this one however, even though it did seem to be the weakest stock, technically.

Seeing what happened to the other stocks reminded me of the importance of being early or on time on the money tree, as Haggerty would say.
