The Secret

Hey this is psychology right? He (twofacedjoker) had hit it on the head...as much as he can't spell worth of crap and refuses to use the spell checker...

Most western thought of success is the idea of accumulation and striving for wealth, living in a rat race. The fear of death that is instilled in us from birth and enforced by organized religion as well stems from this. Ever wonder why so many people are sick in the head in America and in the west? the rat race and stress is doing it. And all the while they think money and accumulation of things will make it somehow better or easier and at the end they have a big surprise....

Can you two move this meeting of mental giants to the "traders who are deeply religious" thread and debate the meaning of life with Trainr

Quote from andrasnm:

There are two kinds of people walking on this earth - the ones who are dying since birth and the ones who are not.
I suspect you are in the first group and I bet its miserable there.

I disagree,

There are two kinds of people in life,

those that let things happen,

and those that make things happen.

which one are you ?

Thanks for the link, I have several of Napoleon Hill's books but I don't have this one. :)
No worries, evidently Haanel is Hills original source

There are 3 types of people in this world...

those who can count.... and those who can't.....
The one missing is where I am included: those who don't give a damn!

The PDF version mentions "..VCR without a videotape.." in chapter 18. Bio: Charles Haanel (1866-1949)... Unless he saw into the future, the book was creatively edited.

Can someone who has the book confirm? Any thoughts on it? Whoever edited the book might have edited it elsewhere.
No doubt for continuity, gramaphone without a record would have sounded odd these days

It is OK if edits are as benign as this one. Just concerned if some more complicated content was edited.

Quote from trader28:

I study western occultism and Nirvana is merely transcending desire, a peculiar eastern concept that all the work has been done when in fact very little karma has been cleared and several more incarnations are guaranteed, you see we are put here to learn the lessons of duality not reject them. And I think you confuse abundance with wealth, abundance encompasses so much more than mere money

Thank you very much for posting the link to this book!

Are you saying that it is somehow better to focus on clearing karma than trying to reach nirvana or that both must be reached?

Do you mean duality as in the the concept of yin and yang?
