A Banana Peel Market - Are You Listening?

"In spite of the selling on Monday of this past week, the CPC and VIX sentiment gauges have moved to very bullish extremes of greed. Does everyone expect the expected? Of course we will have a post-Christmas rally. It's a slam-dunk sure thing, right? That seems to be the bet that the market has been buying into since Tuesday."
"From a contrarian view, both VIX and CPC are closer to sell signal extremes than they are to buy signal extremes. Expect the unexpected when everyone is singing the same tune. And it sounds like "Jingle Bells" this time of year."

I can now say with virtual certainty, with the S&P currently @ 1258, and looking at above poll, the S&P will end the year between 1201-1249 choice #2

was I the only one short today?

I'm trying to help this board. Look at the contrarian play set up by the poll. There's no way the masses could have been right. I hope there are some who understand what I'm saying.

I can see what you are saying, but I don't think the active members of an obscure trading board can really be regarded as 'the masses'.

Considering a lot of them are unprofitable , its the masses :)

Seems like nobody wants to look and think anymore

just trade, trrade yahhh ,trade, sell sell lsell buy buy buy! yah selll
at the end they wonder what happened.

Only one bullet is required in the markets. Use it with careful consideration :)

why don't you take that bullet and put it between the eyes.

the masses of these types of traders...

http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60301

like I said, no way are the majority of these type traders gonna be correct about the market. Sampling of 175 more than enough to render a statistically significant result. And it did, now you need to understand how to interpret it.
