The Russians are right about Syria

I was commenting on their interpretation of islam itself, not their proclivity for terrorism. It is a mystery to us, but among muslims the doctrinal differences are enough to kill over. I think it is generally accepted that the shia strain is much more extreme and old school than the sunnis. I also disagree that Saudi Arabia is worse on human rights than Iran. There is more publicity about what happens in Saudi Arabia, as it is far more open than Iran. I grant you that we are talking about the difference between awful and even worse.

It is not even close. In Saudi Arabia a woman must be accompanied by a man at all times. In Saudi Arabia a woman cannot have a drivers license. Iran is considerably more moderate than Saudi.

Secondly, I don't care about the interpretation of islam. Most the bad guys are Sunni. That is once you get pasted government propaganda and really study the situation.

Third, it is no mystery to us. Christians have been killing other Christians for two thousand years. This is nothing new and something the religious right ought to relate to quite well. This country was founded by Christians escaping persecution by other Christians. The fact that different groups of Muslims fight each other should be no surprise.

You said the Sunnis were more moderate. Actually, they aren't. Saudi Arabia(a Sunni country) is considerably worst than Iran(a Shiite) country on all sorts of human rights abuses and screwed up Sharia law crap. It is not even close. Al Queda, ISIS and all these factions are also Sunni. Hezbollah is a Shiite faction but from what I have seen, they mainly operate in Lebanon. There are plenty of bad guys on both sides, but Sunnis are not more moderate.

Exactly. Wahhabism is the ultra extremist section of Islam, and it came from Sunni Islam, and was founded in Saudi Arabia. AAA, how about you check your facts before you tell everyone they know nothing about Islam.
