The US is the second biggest polluting country in the world, after China.
There is an endless list of things that pollute the world and that should be banned.
Cryptos have no essential value at all for life. They use energy just for speculation. For 99% of the population banning cryptos would have zero negative impact on their life. It would just save a lot of wasted energy.

I would like to point out that there is really no such a thing as free energy. Why? Because that energy wasted on cryptos could be sold on the markets and get good old fashioned cash for it.

Thus it is a wasted opportunity at minimum, and you have to account for it as such.

the ones destroying the planet, its citizens & their trust into the financial system, are the central banks, that take all money sovereignitiy away from them and practice 'modern money theory' by printing cash to a level, that is insane.
Btw, making the rich even more wealthier, without them to take any risks.

central bank fans do not like btc,
as it is a community coin, that cannot be faked, and which is Totally decentralized.

Wasting energy?
There are many things that energy is being wasted for, indeed.

But when it comes to your money, and a way to save its value, energy that goes for btc transactions is nothing compared to real useless stuff.

is not a small deal....and while plenty of people will say ... "OK" ...try to say it again when you have a storm that shouldn't exist or a big flood or .... a lot.
