Yet another walkback as with the previous announcement about not increasing immigration quotas which lasted less than 24 hours.

Does not have a good look to it and no reason why they could not have gotten it right the first time. The answer should always be that "we will be vigorously examining any and all ways that we can help India while maintaining the momentum to vaccinate Americans.

Even Trump adjusted himself as he went along. He stopped outgoing supplies on ventilators etc and then started becoming a major supplier to the world when supplies permitted. Should be the same with vaccines and raw materials.

Biden is surrounded by farm league type diplomats and handlers. They flop stuff out, run it up the flagpole, and see who goes for it and then revise if no one salutes, What are they doing for gawd sake. We are trying to keep India out of Camp China. The answer should never be "we are sending you nothing." Send some military medical units as well.

Actually they are only appear to be agreeing to send vaccine materials for COVID vaccine types not approved in the U.S. I expect this means AstraZeneca and some materials for COVAX scheme support.

I concur the Biden administration got their initial messaging wrong here and then needed to soften the message with 24 hours.

Yes. they are talking about keeping the AZ vaccine alive and helping to see that it gets approved, manufactured and distributed even if Americans do not need or or want. Y'ALL KNOW THAT I HAVE BEEN BANGING THAT DRUM FOR MONTHS NOW. We are American for christs sake. Not Canadians. Our job is take care of not only Americans but for our cup to runneth over and help the free world.

Similarly, I have argued that U.S should have been and should testing the Sinovac and Sinpharm and Sputnik vaccines in the U.S. as service to the world, not that we want to us that shiite but because the world needs it and it needs to be tested. Now, Europe, Fauci, and the other slow to the party types are just beginning to think about it. CMON MAN. The world needs us. It should not be that way but it is our destiny.

That Emergent plant that is shut down should be up and running and producing AZ, and JandJ for India and Canada. If there are problems, fix the fucking problems. Give the goddam plant to Canada, let them fix it, and run it for all I care, but it should be up and running and capacity for the world. We need to be fixing manufacturing plants with problems, not shutting them down. There will be lots of problems in third world countries as they take on manufacturing roles. There needs to be an emphasis on fixing problems not abandoning plants. That's how some real shit hole countries became number one suppliers of semiconductors for example. Step up to the problems, and achieve excellence.

Pfizer said Monday that it told the Indian government that its vaccine is safe. The country says it wants small local trials for foreign shots.

India has approved Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) - Get Report and Moderna (MRNA) - Get Report to sell their vaccines to the country, but none have applied to do so, according to Reuters.

The governments of Mexico and Canada said last week that they expected to begin receiving doses of Pfizer's vaccine from the U.S. That would be the first time the vaccine was delivered outside the country.

According to Bloomberg, U.S. demand for vaccines has begun to fall, with just 2.4 million injections a day last week. About 40% of the adult population has been fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Last week, Pfizer and BioNTech (BNTX) - Get Report requested authorization for their COVID-19 vaccination to be used in the European Union in children ages 12 to 15, media reports say.

If the vaccine is authorized for the age group, these children take one step closer to being back in school in the fall.

The pharmaceutical companies also plan to ask other drug regulators worldwide for clearance to use the vaccine for children in this age range, they said in a statement.

Pfizer shares at last check were up 2.9% to $39.75.

There was a news item last night about a Palestinian terrorist who went into a neghborhood and shot 2 kids and was caught a day later....

Right or wrong, I dont think any Israeli politician is going to risk political suicide and publicly offer vaccines to their "enemy"
