The revolution begins

Quote from Ricter:

And the feds are being pushed by public opinion.

Quote from Lucrum:

False.

I agree with Lucrum. Ricter, please back your statement up with something other than "statistics" published by MSNBC.

What pushing the administration wants to further their agenda, which isn't much, is coming from leftist media, leftist activist groups, and leftist politicians. Vocal groups for sure, by not really representative of the country as it relates to 2nd ammendment rights.

Last poll I recall had something like 70% supportive of the 2nd amendment.
Of course polls showing the public wanting more restrictions always seem to be taken immediately following a shooting, with predictable results.

The issue is not "the 2nd amendment", the issue is stricter background checks and magazine size.

The issue, as it relates to this thread, is people in authoritative positions standing up and saying NO, we won't do that.

This is a quote from the top of the article you posted:

"Weld County Sheriff John Cooke told The Greeley Tribune (http://bit.ly/141Ee2z ) that Democratic lawmakers are scrambling after recent mass shootings, and the bills are "feel-good, knee-jerk reactions that are unenforceable."

"One bill expands background checks on firearm purchases, and the other limits ammunition magazines to 15 rounds."

And the Sheriff told them NO, we won't waste our time trying to enforce the unenforcable. Hence the thread title, The revolution begins.

So the issue is not about the feds or the "leftist" media.
