Various versions of this BS are flowing around.
===
Gallic Wars â Lost. In a war whose ending foreshadows the next 2000 years of French history, France is conquered by of all things, an Italian.
===
There was no France at the time, only independent tribes either ignoring or fighting each other.
Ultimately, Rome falls to various barbarian tribes, including gallic ones.
===
Hundred Years War â Mostly lost, saved at last by female schizophrenic who inadvertently creates The First Rule of French Warfare: "Franceâs armies are victorious only when not led by a Frenchman."
===
The England of the time was ruled by an offspring of the French nobility. England was previously conquered by William of Normandy. 'Honni qui mal y pense', the British motto, is not written in French for nothing.
By the way, there as as much fighting with english armies, than between French armies of various geographical areas.
This war was mostly a civil war.
===
Italian Wars â Lost. France becomes the first and only country to ever lose two wars when fighting Italians
===
There was no such thing as Italy at the time, there were independent kingdoms(like Piemont).
These kingdoms managed to get a part of their territories, lost to France, back.
If this is to be called a loss, a couple of wins must be added for the previous victories.
===
Wars of Religion â France goes 0-5-4 against the Huguenots.
===
It was a civil war.
Did the US won or lost their civil war ?
===
The Napoleonic Wars â Lost. Temporary victories (remember the First Rule!) due to leadership of a Corsican, who ended up being no match for a British footwear designer
===
At this time, Italy and Spain were sub-kingdoms of France.
Of course, anyone with a little knowledge of geography could realize that one small country had little chance fighting all over and as far as Russia, but still managed to rule Europe for a while.
Corse is in France and was at the time.
===
World War I â Tied and on the way to losing, France is saved by the United States.
===
Actually won. As usual, the American are late, but the French managed to protect most of the country from the three simultaneous opposing nations.
The allied troops won, they were all under the command of Foch, a Frenchman.
===
World War II â Lost
===
Actually won.
The French troops sustained heavier casualty rates than during WWI, in order to allow the 'heroic escape' of their British 'allies'.
The US continues funding Hitler, and maintain enthousiastic retionships with the Vichy occupational gvt.
Of course, the US changed sides when they realized the Soviets and the local Europeans resistances had a chance at taking out the Nazis.
By the way, modern France is 10 times older than the modern US.
So, if one wanted to write the same bullshit about the US, would he have to write :
-10 lost civil wars
-10 tied Korean wars
-10 lost vietnam wars
???
This is about as insane and inaccurate as the original text.
