The Republicans Long Road Back

Quote from Dr. Zhivodka:

This newpie drjekyllus reminds me a lot of neorio when he first started here. And after Thurderdog beat him into a bloody pulp he was still was so brainless that he didn't have the dignity to die gracefully. "Too dumb to die," I think was the quote

I have exposed Thundermutt as a bigot. He has certainly taken note because since I did it, he has stopped posting bigoted comments. As for Vodka, well I certainly don't think much of him.

I hate to break this to you, but here in the United States of America the word is spelled as:

skeptical

Now why don't you do us all a big favor and tell us what foreign country you are from, how old you are, and where your actual citizenship is - - - not too mention what ET alias you were using before you started posting with your current ID.

Gee, I didnt know ET was an American only instituition. Its news to me. Landis82, you are a fraud.

Quote from Landis82:

The average age of the Faux News viewer is 63.9 years according to Nielson.

I guess in your enlightened view of the world a group of people with an average age of 63.9 years does not count. Whats the difference what age they are? They are still people. In most cultures of the world, the young respect their elders. It certainly does not seem to hold true in America. Next time you want to blame someone for the sorry state of your affairs, I want you to look in the mirror and except the fact that you have disregarded the lessons from the past and accept blame.

Some of these guys who have been here a while are hardened old crocodiles themselves. Maybe not quite in years but in their attitude they have aged decades. It is a shame to be an old man in a young man's body.

A silly attempt at sarcasm. If you are still fuming about people not alive during reagan's time commenting about reagan then you should suggest everyone who is getting a ph.d in history and writing about george washington get a career change. Whether someone was alive during that period or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is knowledge and understanding of what occurred back then.

Well, I certainly wasn't referring to you so don't take it personal. It was in the same vein as the post above giving the average age of Fox news viewers. Some have bad attitudes.

Also, on your point about living back during Reagan years, I don't agree.

Just as my parents were eyewitnesses to the great depression, when CNBC had a segment on suicides during the depression being small, I knew that was a lie because my mother was 14 in 1929 and related that 3 of her classmates parents committed suicide during the crash. My parents never invested in stocks for that reason alone. There are some things that will never make the history books and other times.........the picture is intentionally clouded ala CNBC.

This speech beats anything Obama has ever done.

Holy fucking shit. That sort of thought and speech is long gone from our shores, sad to say. I had never realized just how far we have strayed until I saw this video.

Wow.

Holy fucking shit.

Yeah, I wanted this thread to be about the content and speaking ability of Reagan, but it quickly fell apart and I think few actually watched a decent portion of the video.

I think it was a great speech and although a lof of the topics are outdated, a lot of it rings true today. I think Obama is good speaker, but not as good as what a lot of people say. He is certainly not great. That perception comes from the fact that Bush was such a horrible speaker. All and all, I think the country could use someone like Reagan now. The republicans did not offer anyone, and Obama is not it. We can only wait and hope.

Reagan was certainly a good demagogue and an opportunist. He gave a speech about deficit spending and balancing budgets and he later tripled the national debt. Cold War could not have been fought with low taxes. That would be a pipe dream. And speeches about losing the cold war are the same alarmist crap that even Kennedy engaged in. Kenned talked about a non existent missile gap and Reagan learned the craft perfectly. When you have nothing, say that soviets are going to own us all. Oldest trick in the book.

As long as McConnell and Boehner are there to remind people of the Bush Republicans, the - Republican - Party - will - go - no - where.

They are a history the GOP needs to discard. When McConnell said "good riddance" to Bush, he left out himself and Boehner. Accidentally I'm sure.
