it's kind of cute actually. Whenever you deal with the United States Government, you are stepping back into the world your parents lived in. They send me all this snail mail, like they are terrified some little old lady will complain her check showed up a day late and Martin Luther King's day is no excuse!

I'm on disability. It was very easy, (sort of, dealing with a U.S. government website. How do they take normal programmers and fuck them up so much?) a Sunday afternoon on the computer applying. Then they sent me a notice I had a doctor's appointment. I went to the doctor and just told the truth. Next thing I know I am getting a check each month.

Thats funny cause a couple years ago, i had my career year, i stroked them a cheque just shy of six figures, and they proceeded to harass me for months for the way i had retirement accounts set up, they told me i was cheating on my taxes, even though my accountant assured i was good. (im a dual citizen so its complicated) and then 1 day i got a cheque for 3k, and i called the same woman back to take her money back, and she insisted i keep it.
