The Republican National Convention starts with a bang

It's amazing how people can listen to the same speech and come away with such a different take on it. I know it is largely a result of the DNC talking points sent out to the liberal media, but the wildly variant responses also reflect just how divided our country is.

I didn't feel Trump's speech was "dark" or 'threatening" at all, merely realistic. We have problems, not all Obama's fault but Obama has exacerbated them, for example by his constant harping on race. Trump wasn't the one who created the BLM/police divide. You have to be willfully blind not to see that when the president sides with violent thugs over the police and strongly suggests they are racist killers, that there will be some in the black community who will be pushed over the edge. Result, a dozen or more murdered policemen.

Trumps' message is clear: he sides with the police and will demand law and order, not riots and mob rule. I suggest this is far more in the "tradition" of our country than a president who can't rise above his previous life as a race hustler.

The idea that Trump is Hitler-in-waiting is frankly absurd, notwithstanding how often the media trot it out. They know it is a ridiculous slander, but they also know if they can convince a small percentage of dupes that it is true, the election could swing on it. After all, they convinced some people that Romney killed a former employee's wife and tortured his own dog.

Reasonable people would ask, who is the greater threat? A president, like Obama, who rewrites or just ignores valid laws at his whim, who uses the State of the Union address to attack the Supreme Court, a co-equal branch of government, and is ok with the IRS targeting his political opponents? Or Trump, who wants to limit government overreach, eg by the EPA, and who has preached caution on foreign adventures?

Or consider Hillary. Her biggest life achievement has been to avoid indictment, not once but multiple times. Her life is a sordid trail of corruption, abuse of power and obstruction of justice. As Secretary of State she really amped up her game, apparently selling access and using her position to leverage massive "donations" to her family slush fund and obscene "speaker's fees" for herself and her disgraced husband. She carries on a "tradition" alright, but is it one we wish to continue?

I know Trump is a salesman and I have been around long enough to distrust all pols, but I found his speech encouraging, inspiring even. He represents a rejection of not only the Obama/Hillary nightmare but the whole Bush New World Order, neo-con, globalist worldview as well. A lot of rich and powerful people see their power and wealth tied up in that old order and will do anything they can to protect it. That's what they actually are thinking when they are spouting nonsense about "America must lead" and we must protect "freedom", etc etc. After all, it's not them or their kids who are going to get killed or crippled for life.

The entire planet's fact checking groups have debunked most of it. If you want to debate any of his claims with evidence, let us know. I bet you'll stick to "the tone", though.

That was worth watching. Thanks. Here's a direct link for the busy Republican on the go:

As I mentioned before, reps have given us so much material in their ODS attacks, we can simply relabel them and have more than enough to cover Drumpf, should he win. In that sense, we still win if we lose.

Bernie Sanders blasted Donald Trump on Twitter Thursday, firing off live criticism during the Republican presidential nominee's acceptance speech in Cleveland.

During the speech, Trump cited Sanders's criticism of presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's judgment. The GOP pick said supporters of the Vermont senator will join his campaign after the "rigged" primary season.

"Those who voted for me will not support Trump who has made bigotry and divisiveness the cornerstone of his campaign," Sanders tweeted in response, using the hashtag #RNCwithBernie.

Trump is wrong. The real cause of instability in the Middle East was the Bush-Cheney invasion of Iraq. By the way, where is President Bush?

What a hypocrite! If Trump wants to "fix" trade he can start by making his products in the US, not low-wage countries abroad.#RNCwithBernie

Still waiting for a single word about covering the 28 million Americans without health insurance. I guess they don’t matter much to Trump.

Not a bad take for once.

So the recordings of "Lumpy" criticizing Obama for X and then praising Drumpf for X are fake?

What about Bernie running a campaign against banks and then endorsing the queen of bank bribes?
