The Republican Debate thread

...Of all the candidates involved in tonight's Mr. America show, I think only one owns himself.
After everyone else was bobbing for dollars at the Koch Palace, it's hard to disagree on that point. That said, I don't think The Donald has a lot else going for him. But I do expect to be entertained. If only I drank, it would add a much needed dimension to the festivities. But I don't much like the stuff, so it won't be quite 3D for me.

Oh, it will be entertaining! If nothing else, he will force the others to possibly leave script. And how about that story about Bush this morning? That was placed with the sole purpose of getting Trump pissed before the show. I would wager that the instructions have gone out from the big donors to get him out of there at all costs.

I'll do your drinking for you, though you realize how badly it will fuck my diet up! But what the hell? This is probably a once in a lifetime event!:D

Ok Mr Loyek ,
Please tell me why would Trump call Clinton before deciding to run ?

Rachel Maddow Thinks Bill Clinton Call Could Sink Trump's Chances

Rachel Maddow marveled at Donald Trump's ability to draw Republican voters even while committing what would for other candidates be considered gaffe after gaffe. But she thinks there's one thing that could knock him down a few pegs.

"We keep thinking that the over-the-line things that Donald Trump says will have some sort of political cost for him -- that every new third-rail comment he makes will hurt him this time," Maddow said on her program Wednesday. "But none of this has happened. ... For some reason, the normal political rules don't apply to him, or they apply to him in reverse."

However, Maddow said Trump's call with former President Bill Clinton, reported by The Washington Post yesterday, could be the thing that sinks him. The Post reported that Trump and Clinton spoke weeks before the reality TV star launched his presidential bid, and that Clinton "encouraged Trump’s efforts to play a larger role in the Republican Party and offered his own views of the political landscape."

"It might be toxic for him if he is now seen as someone who is running for president with the support of former President Bill Clinton," Maddow said. "That is the wooly implication from this very provocative report from The Washington Post."

It seems some Republican voters have interesting priorities, if calling Mexican immigrants rapists and questioning Sen. John McCain's heroism only propels Trump higher in the polls, yet an innocuous conversation with a former president could be the thing that knocks him off his pedestal.

Are you suggesting he may be bribing her to screw up the dem primary? That would be a fascinating development! Would she take money over power? Hmmmmmm. Each begets the other, but perhaps one more than the other.

Carly Fiorina easily the winner in the first debate. Head and shoulders above the others. Jindal had decent command of the topics. The rest are DOA. Lindsay and his attack Iran answer no matter what the question was amusing. Carly goes on. The rest? Not a chance.

This is Bush's chance to look tough and garner some respect. If he can - and it should be easy - to make Trump look like the fool he is, then he might actually start getting some cred. But he will probably just look like the milquetoast bumbler that he is.

Will you vote for Bush if he's the nominee?

no, nothing of the kind, just another right wing conspiracy, Hillary would spend every last penny you and I have to gain more power, and would never sell it for money unless that money meant more power

all I heard during the kiddy debate was tired old republicans who beleive that somehow miraculously the President of the United States can create jobs, which if you think economics is a science you have to be a complete science denier to still believe that is possible

So it seems it begins a feedback loop of sorts once it starts. Money=Power=more Money=more Power etc...
I agree.
