The Reason why Republicans lost Virginia

LOL. Funny replies.

That being said, Republicans lost because they have been promising to repeal Obamacare for 8 years and NOTHING gets done.
I got my new insurance premiums two weeks ago. Up 20% this year (on top of the already 100% increase since Obamacare went into effect).

They control both houses and still can't do anything. Pathetic.
The media in their continuing Trump derangement syndrome are trying to say this is a referendum on Trump. Wrong again as usual. It's a referendum on a republican lead congress that is so incompetent, so totally inept, so pathetically impotent, that it baffles the mind. These guys would find a way to fuck up a one man race.

Northern Virginia is just a colony of DC now. Just government workers.

How many government workers in DC are republicans?

This is spot on. Northern Virginia is now filled with government workers and immigrants. I was at a busy gas station in McLean, Va a while back and realized I was the only actual American there. All the rest were immigrants, eg hispanics, asians, middle easterners. McLean is the whitest of the DC suburbs too.

Northern Virginia has grown tremendously and overwhelmed the rest of the state demographically. Richmond has a high black population as well. The rest of the state is in the same situation normal people living in Maryland are, ie imprisoned in a socialist/liberal hellhole voted in by leftwing government workers and blacks.

It didn't help that Ed Gillespie is a veteran K Street lobbyist and establishment republican figure. He made a half-hearted effort to run on immigration but he lacks credibility.

This election taught two lessons. One, Virginia is a blue state now. Two, establishment republicans have no shot of winning any blue or battleground state because they cannot turn out working class white voters. Gillespie tried but lacked authenticity.

"they cannot turn out working class white voters"
Astounding, considering Trump so clearly pointed out that this is the path to victory.

White working class voters are a natural constituency for democrats. Andrew Jackson built the party around them and democrat policies are better suited to working class people. In a lot of ways Trump and Bannon are helping Democrats to refocus the party.

Except when you call them all a bunch of racist deplorables. When that strategy blows up in your face, then you have to make up a Russian conspiracy to try and explain where all those white working class voters went.
