Yeah, I think you and I had an exchange relative to our respective grandfathers some time ago. Mine had only a 4th grade education yet started a company after a lot of hard work and was successful. The mentality of so many people today is that they expect to be taken care of. And I detest that.

Well, you know why that is. The people never asked for that. The FUCKING GREEDY, POWER HUNGRY POLITICIANS are responsible. Little by little, they offered "this benefit and that" to entice recipients to vote for the ones who granted them "money/benefits at the expense of other citizens". NOW.. the ne'er-do-well benefit recipients have become conditioned to EXPECT to receive "everything and more".
My grandfather would never go along with what we have today. He'd have limited "social support" to "3-squares and a cot in a shelter". And if that's not good enough, then GET A FARKIN' JOB AND PAY FOR WHAT YOU WANT JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE!
We're not going to allow Americans to starve or freeze to death... but that doesn't mean we have to buy them a lifestyle at the expense of other citizens. However... WE DO EXACTLY THAT... but only because of politicians' greed and lust for power.
