Quote from Max E. Pad:
Nope, i didnt agree with TARP either but lets be realistic about which one really saved the country from a depression. TARP saved the entire banking system from collapse, had we let it go that easily would have been another 10% higher in the unemployment. Pkus when it is all said and done TARP will only end up costing abot 100 billion because most of it has been paid back.
Quote from Max E. Pad:
Like i said i hated the idea of bailing bankers out, and would not have done it, simply because it basically let the bankers know they could do whatever they wanted from now on and the government would be there to bail them out. But lets be realistic about which of the two programs was the real piece of shit.
Quote from denner:
Why do people continue this exercise in futility of comparing Bush vs Obama? They're both beholden to special interest groups that work directly against the best interests of the taxpayer.
Quote from DAS Trader:
Because these folks are still caught up in the false left/right paradigm, and that is by design. They've been trained since birth to think of politics as either Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, without ever realizing that these labels are a means to divide us against ourselves; also, regardless of whether we vote for the corporate media's pre approved (d) or (r) candidate, things pretty much continue in the same direction. For me, it took a few cycles for this to become clear, so I do understand why many are still blind to it.
