The REAL Reason NObama "got away with it"?

Canada has its whole share of issues, but the real problem that I see is you take these strawman routes that the right wing sends your way both personally and seriously.

If you were a right winger, they would be celebrating that you are Canadian, claiming that you are a hope for Canada to someday "get it right" for Canada.

The way the right wingers work, is that they look to your core beliefs first, and if those core beliefs don't match up to their own...then they attack something about you personally that has nothing to do with those beliefs. They simply are incapable of engaging in logical reasonable debate on the issues...because if their only tools are calm rational debate...they are going to lose on the issues. The people of America realized this after 8 years of Bush fear mongering and irrational behaviors. Americans decided they wanted something different, they didn't want to stay the course.

It was so bad, that they voted in a black man with a Muslim name. What are the odds if there was a poll of all Americans on 9/12/2001 that they would vote in a president who was black and had a Muslim name?

But Bush did his level best to serve the republican masters and his true loyal constituency of inner circle republicans and neocons. Bush did not act for the best of the country, all we have to do is a time-line on the Bush regime and see who benefited the most financially, and who benefited the least due to the overall Bush policy implementation.

So Americans wanted change, not John McSame. They took a flyer on an unknown, a black, Muslim named unknown. It is really unbelievable that this took place, and it shows the underlying distrust by the people of the republican party, who preach one thing and do the exact opposite.

In any case, the canard of Canada is not productive from your side or theirs. Americans don't give a shit about Canada or their problems, hell, many Americans don't give a shit about the problems of other Americans (see the wealthy upper class for proof of this).

All of this distraction about Canada takes the attention away from the real issues.

I have mentioned many times before that it is wrong for Americans to be continually judging other countries and their cultures...when their own is so fucked up, and it goes against the Golden Rule.

You see what happens to you as a Canadian when you attack the right wing "American" core values...they attack Canada, simply because you live in Canada.

Sort of like Bush attacked Iraq even though Saddam had no WMD, and no causal link to 9/11. One huge distraction away from the real issues.

It is not rational, but when you get reactive and defensive...they win every time. Don't play their game, stay on point.

Every time you try to defend Canada, you make it look like Canada needs defending...and it doesn't actually.

Quote from Thunderdog:

I do not have country envy, although I think your country has the potential for greatness. I don't like your guns and I don't like your health care system. We have problems with both right here in Canada, but on balance I think it is better here at home. We have the most sound banking system in the world. No, I'm quite happy where I am. But make no mistake. Canada depends heavily on the US for its economic well being. As I have noted before, and as you have already downplayed, about 90% of Canada's exports go to the US. Without a sound America, Canada is in trouble. Therefore, I should be about 90% as concerned about the well being of your country as you should be. However, it seems that I am concerned much more so than you are, because you appear to be a tad too stupid to give a shit.

Sounds like you guys need some diversity training, of an economic sort.

Oh I give a shit. In fact I VOTED. Which is infinitely more than anything you've ever done of any consequence.

Well except of course to run your pantie waist, socialist, bleeding heart, utterly irrelevant mouth here.

Thank you for your perspective. Very insightful.

Why do I get the sense that you're not a hardcore Republican at all, but merely wish to present as one in the most unfavorable and stupid light possible to discredit the party? A sort of caricature worthy of contempt. Whoever you are, come in from out of the cold. Your work is done.

Quote from Thunderdog:

Probably because I'm not. Multiple online political tests I taken indicate that my views are just to the right of center with a dash of libertarian, for good measure.

Don't spend all of your time in the gay bars and bath houses Dawg. There's a whole world out there buddy, get out and enjoy.

Only if you promise to stop projecting.

P.S. What a worthless segue, such as it was, even for a hack like you. You seem to produce little more than piss and vinegar, with a dollop of bad judgment.

You mean this kind of projecting?

Or is it that it's OK for you but not the rest of us mere unenlightened mortals?

Thunderdog, the assertion that Canadians, or for that matter any other citizens of the world can't give their views and opinions on American politics or the parties that comprise the American political system, is baseless and has no credence. This is a global website which welcomes views from all over the world, be it on politics, trading or anything else in America and/or beyond it. The usual culprits propagating this faulty theme are the ones who invariably don't provide valid arguments in support of their points of view but instead resort to tactics that are meant to provoke i.e. the modus operandi of the troll.
