The trouble with Switzerland is that it is land-locked and expensive doesn't even begin to describe the cost-of-living there.

My parents once rented a villa in Tuscany while their home on Humboldt Island was being renovated and I visited them there. I think that area would be my choice for quality of life when I get too old to be very mobile or sail. It was quiet, beautiful and the food and drink was amazing. You see some very attractive women there too.
