I believe in free and fair trade.
Trump has been telling us for years our leaders have let China screw our workers out of jobs and our country out of the IP it has developed.
Really useful trade comes when trade is free and fair. As far as I know no country in the world practices such free and fair trade. We have currency manipulation. Home market protections.
Corporate espionage. We have punitive tax structures encouraging corporations to take jobs overseas and even losing headquarters through inversions. As trump says other countries have been allowed to eat our lunch. At first it was probably a good idea to let China become part of the world system. But at somepoint we should have prevented our companies from extracting our wealth and our assets through these one sided trade agreements.
