President Donald Trump called on Michigan’s governor to cave in to the demands of gun-toting protesters who stormed the state Capitol.

Armed demonstrators crowded into the statehouse Thursday to demand Gov. Gretchen Whitmer ease social distancing restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic, and Trump praised them as “very good people” in an echo of his comments on armed white supremacists who rallied nearly three years ago in Charlottesville, Virginia.

“The Governor of Michigan should give a little, and put out the fire,” Trump tweeted. “These are very good people, but they are angry. They want their lives back again, safely! See them, talk to them, make a deal.”

remind me of the good people that were hoping to visit a "draw Mohammad" Texas exposition and were gunned down by LEO before they ever got there. They weren't white though.

Alex Jones endorses cannibalism less than two months into coronavirus lockdowns

Alex-Jones-Youtube.jpg

Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones unleashed an insane rant on Friday in which he discussed eating his own neighbors should the COVID-19 lockdown continue.

“I will admit it — I would eat my neighbors,” Jones said. “I’m not letting my kids die. I’m just going to be honest. My superpower is being honest. I’ve extrapolated this out — and I won’t have to for a few years because I’ve got food and stuff — but I’m literally looking at my neighbors now and going, ‘I’m ready to hang ’em up and gut ’em and skin ’em.”
Jones then praised himself for his honesty in his endorsement of cannibalism.

“My superpower is being honest — I’ll eat your ass!” Jones said.

He then angrily blamed the “globalists” for instituting lockdowns and forcing him to consider eating people.

“You think I like sizing up my neighbor?!” he yelled. “I’m gonna haul him up by a chain and chop his ass up! I’ll do it! My children aren’t going hungry! I’ll eat your ass! And that’s what I want the globalists to know — I will eat your ass first!”

CDC's draft guidance for reopening amid coronavirus includes spaced-out seating in schools, disposable menus in restaurants

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has drafted a 17-page document that details interim guidance on how businesses, schools, churches, mass transit and other organizations should handle safely reopening to the public amid the coronavirus pandemic.

A federal health official stressed that the draft guidance, which was sent to Washington this week, is still under review by the Trump Administration and could change. The draft document was sent to CNN on Thursday by a person familiar with the deliberations.

Details in the document provide a snapshot of what reopening in the United States could look like.

It includes specific guidance for six categories: child care programs; schools and day camps; communities of faith; employers with vulnerable workers; restaurants and bars; mass transit administrators.

For each category, the draft document notes reopening in phases.

People familiar with the deliberations said the recommendations were still under consideration by the White House. But on Wednesday, President Donald Trump signaled he may be unlikely to sign off on guidelines that recommend a return to an altered way of life.

"I see the new normal being what it was three months ago. I think we want to go back to where it was," Trump said at a meeting with representatives from the restaurant and hospitality industries.

"I want to go back to where it was, that's where we're going to be," Trump said.

Behind the scenes, industry groups have been pressuring the administration to issue nationwide standards for businesses so that a consistent set of advice exists across states. Some have also asked the White House to be mindful of businesses' bottom lines as they recommend potentially expensive changes to how operations are run.

Below it states that covid-19 will not be controlled until 67% of population is immune. If that is the case, I don't see any benefit of continuing the shutdown.

Covid-19 Pandemic Likely to Last Two Years, Report Says

The coronavirus pandemic is likely to last as long as two years and won’t be controlled until about two-thirds of the world’s population is immune, a group of experts said in a report.

Here is the trade-off lives versus jobs according to Wharton. If states re-open before June with social distancing measures in place than there will be an additional 23,3,000 deaths by the end of June but save 18 million jobs. If states re-open in June with no social distancing in place there results will reach 950,000 deaths by the end of June

Reopening States Before June Would Save Millions Of Jobs But Result In Hundreds Of Thousands More Coronavirus Deaths

As some states begin to relax lockdown orders and allow businesses to reopen, a new report from the Penn Wharton Budget Model (PWBM) on Friday found that reopening before June could save 18 million jobs but also result in over 200,000 additional COVID-19 deaths.

KEY FACTS
  • If states keep lockdowns in place through June, about 18.6 million more jobs would be lost, PWBM projects. U.S. GDP by that point would fall to almost 12% lower than it was a year prior.
  • The national death toll will near 117,000, up from the current 63,000, if lockdown orders are extended through June.
  • If states begin partially reopening (lifting emergency declarations, stay-at-home orders and school closures) then the nation would see 45,000 more deaths in addition to the 117,000, PWBM’s model forecasts.
  • A partial reopen would, however, save some 4.4 million jobs out of 14 million more projected to be lost in the next two months, and GDP would fall by 10.7% compared to a year earlier.
  • If states were to fully reopen—immediately lifting all lockdown orders and business closures, that would lead to an additional 233,000 deaths from the coronavirus by the end of June, PWBM found.
  • Under that scenario, GDP on June 30, 2020, would increase by around 1.5% relative to not reopening, with almost all job losses since May 1 getting regained.
  • If a full reopening results in Americans relaxing their social distancing measures, then cumulative national deaths will reach a catastrophic 950,000 by the end of June, PWBM’s report shows.
  • Under those same circumstances, 4.1 million jobs would be regained from losses between March and April.

Key background
The total number of jobs lost over the last six weeks now amounts to more than 30 million as the coronavirus crisis continues to force business closures, layoffs and furloughs on an unprecedented scale. Another 3.8 million people filed temporary unemployment claims last week, according to data released by the Labor Department on Thursday.

Crucial statistics
The U.S. now has more than 1 million confirmed cases of coronavirus, with the death toll surpassing 63,000.
