First off I take these models with a HUGE grain of salt considering how horribly inaccurate they've been so far. Secondly had we taken an initial hit and just slowly throttled back on the shutdown we would not be in such depersonalization now to reopen. We never tried so we'll never know. Yes the body count would have been considerably higher, but the devastation to come will make that look like a walk in the park. I do agree, we are fucked as now there are no good alternatives to what's in front of us

Illinois Governor Pritzker extends statewide shutdown until end of May. I know two Chicago area Ford Plants were tentatively scheduled to go back online May 6. I assume this means they stay shutdown all month. No cars equals no steel to make. USX Gary works has already idled two blast furnaces with a third expected to go down if no orders come in. Extreme liberals voted for their Democrat governors. Now, it is too late to save them or their jobs. Sometimes, you have to make people swallow the bitter pill they were very happy to create. Democrat governors will succeed in destroying their states economies that I have no doubt of. As some point, extreme liberals will get fed up. Look for riots in the liberal states. Antifa and BLM will come out and destroy their communities. This will be a huge campaign issue going into November 3, 2020. Probably, make more Democrats switch over and vote for President Donald Trump.
 
Prediction: People will resume their lives and businesses will reopen regardless of what Governors say.

Its already happening. Lib-Nazis will not be able to control the population. You can't arrest everyone. A tsunami of defiance is coming.
