The Overnight Drift Higher In Index Futures

Quote from fseitun:

Looks like its going to be fully retraced...what worries me is NQ, which has been very bearish the last couple of days.

We need NQ to join the bulls again to keep rallying.

By the way, your observations are right on target. 2009 has been Gap City so far, and the best moves have occurred overnight, leaving little change for the regular trading session.

Thats right, why slug it out all day when the overnight drift higher is almost a sure thing.

the ES isn't my baby but most indexes look like they are running up to yesterdays highs around the 8:30 announcements then let the selloffs begin. On the ES 929 or 926 ish

Funny I was just thinking about the midnight rally crew. It was a pretty neat effect back in 2005/2006. Maybe look at buy a just out of the money call at 4:10 and selling a future when it hits the strike

After 5 days in a row and another big run this week who knows. At some point we will gap down.

Here is what you can do. Look for a close with a bearish candle they will try and void it. That may be your best bet.

The banks are going to have to do stock offerings to raise more cash. Everyday we get a bank upgrade. They are milking this for all its worth.

Quote from Roman Candle:

If we close the day on the lows in ES,YM you can bet it will be higher in the morning.

Why don't you or anyone else here that believes in this start a journal and document this. Put your money on the line. Give us your entries and exits. Talking about this is great, and I am not a necessarily a naysayer on this, but let's see some proof.
