The Opening Orders Thread

Don, i understand your thought process. I would think leaving out "newsy" stocks and items of potential extreme moves (earnings etc) over the long haul is probably the right way to go.

Chiguy, wow that is sobering! Thanks for your feedback.

740 shares, -$216.
Closed my last position out manually for a small loss because I had to go to the dentist. The box would have waited and made a profit. But then the box had already created a limit order to close it which I didn't cancel...got filled of course and lost $280....erghhhh!!!!

Good news..no cavities.

3 short wins(one a test position), 2 long wins, +902, 7300 shares

More fills than I expected on such a flat open. Even got lucky after "supersizing" one of my short orders by accidentally selling more instead of buying to close.

LOL that used to happen to me too until they put a warning in my software when I try to sell something long I do not hold & the order is blocked & I get a message to mark it short. Except usually it would go against me when I did it before they fixed it LOL.

Today I'm the chicken...entered orders with .3 sell envelope & 1.3 for buys, then cancelled all my orders before the open when the futures ripped up...too unpredictable for me.

Hope everyone did well.
