The Opening Orders Thread

been following this thread for a while now.

and decided to give it a try yesterday. Luckily at the last minute I decided to cancel all my orders. (which was probably really wise due to my relative inexperience with day trading)

Today I thought I'd give it another try.

entered 100 share orders for 16 stocks.

got 2 fills.

1 long winner .18 cents
1 short winner .10 cents

for a nice tidy $28 :)

Excellent "proof of concept" - now "get the share size up" LOL...

Good luck, be careful, understand fully the concept of slingshots and shakeouts. All has been explained on this and/or earlier threads.

Stayed on the sidelines today. Mostly due to lack of confidence in the NYSE processing systems being able to handle "panic" conditions.

Had half a mind to put in one quarter size with a huge envelope, but wouldn't have been able to justify it had it turned out a loser.

Hope everyone who played did well.

this is exactly how i started in 2004...

keep good records and study them...

hey don...you didn't tell me to up my size for almost a year...why so long???:p
 
Also stayed out today...feels like more of a gamble than an edge on these days, since they don't seem to do what they are "supposed" to do.

.06 + .13 +.17 +.04 = .40 cent win

Still only testing the waters with 100 share lots but looking good so far :)
 
On the other hand, I "shoulda waited another 5 minutes, LOL"

Down $380 on 11 fills....

Heading to Alabama tomorrow, see everyone again on Monday.

Those were a scary first 15 minutes today. Got out with an ok profit, but I had to sweat for it. Was loaded to the gills in other accounts, so I was a little quick on the sell button with these.
