The Opening Orders Thread

Did anyone lose their connection to the NYSE this morning ???
I entered & adjusted my orders by around 9:15 & then something odd happened before the open, but I thought I was OK. Only thing I noticed was some "last price" data was missing for a few stocks...that happens once in a while.

Anyway...entered orders using .2 & 1.1 envelopes...cancelled PFE & S

Got filled short on T & tried to enter some covering orders on ARCA, then I noticed the auto-cancel for OPG was not working & I could not manually cancel either. So ARCA was not getting my orders & NYSE orders were down, but I was getting quote data.

I had to reboot my software which takes about 2-3 minutes (meanwhile fearing huge red spot of course).
When my program came back up at around 9:35 I was partially filled on cover for T & also filled short TWX (both were green to my surprise, since the only luck I usually have is BAD LOL).
Ended up with 2 small wins (phew)

3 longs, 2 wins and a scratch, +464, 7000 shares

Steelers home opener against the Bills at 1PM Sunday (and yes, we will be serving buffalo wings at the tailgate, so stop on by).

As Jessica Simpson once said

" I didn't know buffalos could fly"

Hi guys, I've been following this thread for a week or two now and have done some reading and find the strategy very cool! I'm an options guy myself, but nonetheless have taken note of your trades...good stuff!

Has got me into paper trading some Opening Orders on the options side; more difficult, obviously, but I'm playing it small and not so systemized...

Basically put in orders usually the day before / before open, set the orders to place @ 9:24est and cancel if not filled by 9:44est. Have been trying to get fat fills on some index products--OEX, VIX, but trying to get mostly short on UP opens rather than avoid a crash down....keep I/V on my side more that way too.

Have not gotten a whole lot of fills, but the strategy has been fun!

Thanks to all you guys for your daily rants... :D
