The New York Times wants to re-draw the 50 state map to get rid of conservatives in elections...

"The 50-state model is holding the country back. It needs a new system, built around urban corridors."

The 21st century will not be a competition over territory, but over connectivity — and only connecting American cities will enable the United States to win the tug of war over global trade volumes, investment flows and supply chains. It's actually a great idea, state borders don't mean anything as they often split cities and towns - for example NJ and NY.
