The next shoe to drop: Ford and GM

What about all those government vehicles that depend upon Ford and Chevy? All those police cars...where will they get the parts?

Quote from IShopAtPublix:

P.S A lot is made about how the unions priced themselves out of the market and sunk GM. Not surprisingly this explanation comes from the republicans. There is ZERO fault of UNIONS for the current situation at GM.
I put the reasons for the current fiasco in the following order:

1.Stupidity of the management 95%
2. Japan playing with its currency against the backdrop of USA duking it out with USSR for numer uno. 5%

Wrong... you can't be competitive in a market when you are paying people $40/hr to stand around with their thumbs up their ass pushing a broom. I've worked inside at one of the big 3... do you realize that the interiors of the cars are designed NOT based upon public demand for components and style etc. but are designed so that the asm. line worker can install them with as much ease as possible. Not to mention that they are so far behind the 8-ball when it comes to getting changes to the market place because they are suffocating on their own red tape that they end up being the last to actually get a new style or advancement to the market... what a joke.

Dumbass, read the whole post. There is no justifiable reason why GM squandered its number 1 position to toyota. Blaming the unions is for the weak. Toyota and Honda should have been squashed before they made any impact but GM did not care.
